    The band was scheduled to record abroad in Spain for the first time since their second album, "There is no reply but sweet wind blew "(2018), and to perform with some of the leading bands of the current Screamo scene, such as State Faults and Boneflower The European tour with Viva Belgrado was cancelled and most of the plans that had been prepared had to be rethought. Nevertheless, some of the plans came to fruition, and they completed this album, "cahier", and released a CDEP with 5 songs in total, including 4 new songs and one song that was restructured under the new structure, which sold out after its release to a great response. This 12" reissue in cooperation with Dog Knights Productions will include one bonus track ("The Quiet River") and a reproduction of the special jacket.

Following the reissue of their first album "Shirabe" in 2019, lang's next release will be a 5-track EP! to be released on 3LA in a special paper jacket.
The onslaught of the coronavirus Covid-19, which is set to become a global epidemic from the beginning of 2020, has had a huge impact on the music scene here in Japan and around the world, and lang was of course no exception to this, with his second album, "There is no reply but sweet wind blew" ( 2018), their first international recording in Spain since 2018), and a European tour with Viva Belgrado that was also scheduled to include performances with some of the leading bands on the current Screamo scene, such as State Faults and Boneflower, was cancelled, and most of the preparations for the The plan had to be reworked. Nevertheless, several plans came to fruition, and this album "cahier" was completed, and it contains four new songs and one rebuilt song under the new structure, for a total of five songs. The sound is far from the existing Screamo sound, and the ensemble is changing to a more subtle expression, and Wada's Japanese lyrics in the context of modern day poetry, which is her signature, are sharpened and pushed to the fore more than ever, and this album is the band's first release. This will be an important work that connects the transitional period. Especially the last track 'Footsteps of the sky', which has already been performed live, is likely to be engraved as a new anthem for the band. Inspired by the song 'Footsteps of the sky', which sings about the emotional landscape of the band members who have Fukushima as their hometown, the scenery that has never gone away and never returned, and the feelings of loss, lang has put into the artwork, and even the paper quality of the page that the lyrics are turned on, to create a total expression of the work.
The band signed with Dog Knights Productions in the UK, which has released analog versions of killie and sans visage, the release of the second album "There is no reply but sweet wind blew" LP has been decided, and is in the process of advancing to the next action, the next work connected to this EP.

2019年に1stアルバムの『調べ』リイシューに続くlangの次なる作品は5曲入りEP! 特製紙ジャケット仕様にて3LAよりリリースします。
2020年の頭から世界的流行を見せるコロナウイルスCovid-19の猛威は、ここ日本だけでなく世界中の音楽シーンが大きな影響を受けており、langももちろんその例外ではなかった。2ndアルバム『There is no reply but sweet wind blew』(2018年)以来となるスペインでの海外レコーディング、State FaultsやBoneflowerといった現在のScreamoシーンを代表するバンド達との共演も予定されていたViva Belgradoとのヨーロッパツアーも中止となり、準備を重ねてきたほとんどの計画は練り直しを余儀なくされた。それでもいくつかの計画は実を結び、本作『cahier(カイエ)』を完成、新曲4曲、そして新体制になって再構築された1曲を収録した全5曲でのリリースとなります。音は既存Screamoサウンドからも離れ、より繊細な表現へと変化していくアンサンブル、そしてボーカル和田の持ち味である現代詩の文脈にある日本語歌詞をこれまで以上に研ぎ澄ませ前面へと押し出していくバンドの今を切り取った本作は、メッセージの通り3rdアルバムへの過渡期を繋ぐ重要な意味を持つ作品となるだろう。特にライブでは既に演奏されているラストトラック「空の足跡」はバンドの新たなアンセムとして刻まれることになりそうだ。福島を故郷に持つバンドメンバーの心象風景、消えて戻らない景色、喪失していく想いを歌っていく「空の足跡」からインスパイアされたlangの表現をアートワークにも落とし込み、歌詞をめくるページの紙質まで作り込んだ作品としてトータルな表現として完成させた。
バンドはkillieやsans visageのアナログ盤をリリースしているUKのDog Knights Productionsと契約し2ndアルバム『There is no reply but sweet wind blew』のLPリリースも決定、本作EPから繋がる次なるアクション、次なる作品へと進んでいく最中だ。

This album is a piece of work that carefully reconstructs what the first and second albums couldn't embody, including the ability to play at the time, with the impulsive expressions of the first and second albums, phrase by phrase.
From this next album onwards, Lang's music changed a lot.
cahier is an important EP that will lead to the next album.
I hope you'll give it a listen.

本作は、1stと2ndにある衝動的な表現だけでは、当時の演奏力含めて体現できなかったものを、1フレーズづつ丁寧に再構築しながら作った作品です。
この次のアルバムから、langの楽曲は大きく変わっていきます。
cahierは、2ndから次回作へと繋がる大事なEPとなりました。
