From Gifu Hashima to the world. The only emo-experimental-skramz ringing in the silent 2020s.
3LA -LongLegsLongArms Records-(JP), Dog Knights Productions(UK)!

The time has finally come for the completion and release of quiqui's first album, "Calendar".
Started in 2013 in Hashima, Gifu Prefecture, quiqui has released an edited CD "Machi no Suzumari", which includes newly written songs, after two EPs and an appearance at Taipei's DIY indie music festival in 2018. In the early days of their activities, they digested emo, screamo, and mass rock music with the sensibility of an unfinished youth, and the songs they spit out with emotion had the potential to change into any form. The songs are like sketches of rural landscapes that are disappearing from Japan, or minimal music with an experimental spirit in the lineage of UK indie rock. This album, however, is definitely more advanced than the previous ones.
The sound production, recorded, mixed, and mastered at Studio Nostos, may push the standard of EMO to a new level. The depth and profundity of the sound, which expresses the band's evolving musicality to the fullest, and even the blank spaces of silence therein, come vividly back to life. The band is about to step into a new realm with the confidence of their newly acquired sound, which will become their signature.
Having finally deviated from the framework of what might be called "hardcore" music, their sound can be described as "Skramz jazz". There is a sound that has shaken off the longing for their predecessors and has begun to walk their own path. I would like to assure you that we have completed the ultimate first album for EMO in the 2020s.
The cover artwork is by Katagiri, as on the previous edited CD, and the CD/LP binding is by nabsLAB. The energy in their music shouldn't be confined to EMO, passion, mass rock, or any other genre, and I can sense a universality in their pop that can transcend genres. Let's see where they go from here, and enjoy it together. I wrote. It's been about three years since then, and while their plans were repeatedly thwarted by the Corona disaster, they have finally completed their first album, "A Little More Calendar," and it has reached far beyond the expectations I had at the time.
Without being afraid of losing or changing, what will I find in myself that will be worn down in the repeating days? 2,750 yen. released on November 26, 2021.

message from quiqui

I don't dare to mention it.
The times they are a little different.
Change is a fearful thing
It is something that we accept and cannot accept.
I've been through such events and sidelines many times.
With the support of my friends and family, I have been spinning out my story piece by piece.
The things that have not changed are what we have been looking at.
That is what makes us strong.
That is why, no matter how exhausted we are
This recording was made at the end of December 2020.
It's like picking up a book from someone's study.
Like looking into someone's diary.
I hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
