何処に住み、何処で愛し、何処で老いていくのか
カナダ・オンタリオ州から放つ激情/Screamo

BASQUE(バスク)はオンタリオ州キッチナー出身の4人組Screamo... ということになっているが、2020年代中盤戦へと突入していくこの現代で「Screamo」と言われても「それってどのScreamo？」となってしまい迷い込むのがこのSkramzという迷宮である。Emo〜Post-Hardcore文脈で語る”我々の”Screamoとは即ちScreamoというジャンルを突き詰めながら同時にScreamoを逸脱するという矛盾を抱えており、その矛盾と問いの質によって拡張と深化を繰り返してきた。このエッジに立つバンドがいるからこそScreamoは面白い。
インターネットとデジタルストリーミング時代となり歴史の文脈がサウンド同様にリミックスされていく中で発生した彼らの音は、日本でいうならquiquiのような激しさと静寂が一体のバンドの内に同居し、pg99やCircle Takes The Squareといったカオティックな激情ハードコア達が築いてきた歴史へリスペクトを払いながらも、エレクトロニクスも融合したノイズとエモバイオレンスの解釈とも言える不協和音による構成美が成り立っている。
バンド初のアルバムとなる本作は彼らのフッドであるカナダNo Funeral Recordsからレコード、カセットがリリースされ、CDは3LAと共に100枚のみのプレスにて小規模流通されることになりました。日本盤CDに関しては帯＋日本歌詞カード付属となります。
